German shepherd

The German Shepherd

The German Shepherd (also known as Alzheimer's Sheepdog) breed of domestic dogs is selected and raised to preserve livestock primarily sheep. The German Shepherd is a breed of dogs from FCI Group 1 (shepherd dogs and dog horses). It is a common pet and one of the most common breeds of dogs. It is used to the needs of the military and the police, for example, in search for drugs, criminals. It helps blind people as a guide.

History : In Germany, in 1891, a "Phylax" founded with the aim of standardizing dog breeds and breeding dogs with desirable traits such as strength, agility, speed, good flair. After a couple of years the company fell apart, due to the overcoming of goals, One of the former members of Max von Stepanitz paid special attention to working dogs. At the dog show in 1899, the dog named Hektor Linksrhein, who was the result of long-time farming, was thrilled to be a strong, intelligent and faithful dog. Von Stepanitz took over that dog, called him Horand von Grafrath and named him the first German Shepherd and founded the German sheepdog Association.

[1] Since that first dog, which has been associated with similarly similar females, numerous offspring were formed, which made up the core of the German Shepherd breed. All purebred German Shepherds are descendants of this first-named German Shepherd. The German Shepherd was accepted as a breed in 1919, when there were 505 copies, and by 1926, there were about 8,000. His popularity grew after he showed himself as a useful dog in the war and when German shepherds appeared " Rin Tin Tin "and" Strongheart "in film roles. After the Second World War, he had a negative echo in the public because of the German name. In England, therefore, the breed was called "Alzheimer's Shepherd Dog" and they used that name until 1977, [2] when they decided to use the old name again. In the US in 2009 he was the second in the list of the largest breeds.
